Adamite, inlcuded by Johillerite (TL) with Zincolivenite

This is an excellent example of not only an amazing HUGE adamite crystal but also for the rare species Johillerite, which is associated with, and included in, Adamite along with a bonus of crystals of Zincolivenite. Johillerite is a complex sodium-magnesium-zinc-copper arsenate and Tsumeb is the Type Locality! In this specimen, as in most occurrences of the species at Tsumeb, it is found as bluish microcrystals at the corner of an Adamite crystal, and also in this instance as micro-inclusions in Adamite in a few places. This is an amazingly rich specimen. The lustrous, medium olive-green Adamite crystals are quite large for Tsumeb at nearly 2 cm on edge for the largest. Zincolivenite, as the name implies, is a copper-zinc arsenate and is an intermediate member of the solid solution series between Olivenite and Adamite. They are found on this specimen as bright, jewel-like, green-blue crystals from 1 to 2.5 cm across scattered on the Adamite - an amazing color contrast. While not entirely pristine, it is nearly so and certainly in good shape compared to others of the size. It would be among the largest such crystals from Tsumeb, among the most richly included, and should be considered a truly important rarity. This would have been found in the deepest levels, in the late 1980s. This is aesthetic and important miniature from Tsumeb, an important species representation, and just a beautiful specimen - period. Thumbnails are valued $1000-2500 generally. This is huge - presumably the value should scale up accordingly to the small comparables we have seen, and this should certainly appraise at $5000-plus.
