Of all the localities for Adamite in the world, none is more prolific or celebrated than the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. The world-class specimens from this locality are renowned for their beautiful color, superb crystallization and excellent displayability. This particular specimen features dozens of wonderful, fine quality, lustrous, "wedge"-shaped crystals which are oriented into beautiful little "pinwheel"-shaped groups on oxidized matrix. The color is a lovely yellow hue with a slight greenish overtone. With some magnification, you can see that some areas on the crystals are completely WATER CLEAR! Excellent quality, color and crystallization make this piece a great example of this beloved material from one of the most prestigious localities in all of Mexico. Priced in our inventory at $1,500. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl, a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
