Item Description

One of the most classic localities for Adamite in the world is the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. The specimens from this locality are renowned for their beautiful color, superb crystallization and excellent displayability. This particular specimen features dozens of wonderful, fine quality, lustrous, "wedge"-shaped crystals and groups on oxidized matrix. The ranges from a vivid yellow hue on the terminations of the crystals to nearly a white hue at the base of the crystals. There are some smaller single crystals of Adamite on the piece that are completely WATER CLEAR! Excellent quality, color and crystallization make this piece a fantastic example of this celebrated material from one of the most prestigious localities in all of Mexico. Priced in our inventory at $5,000. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0189). Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
