Adamite (fine classic material)

Adamite is a well-known zinc arsenate minerals, and one of the most classic localities for the species is the Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This material is without a doubt some of the most beautiful and classic examples of the species. This particular specimen features a few very good sized radial groups of fine quality, lustrous, yellow-green Adamite on Limonite matrix. It's not common to find spheres this size from this locality, especially in such good condition, as the bigger ones were often riddled with damage. The piece shows an intense green fluorescence under UV light. This is a showy miniature size specimen, that actually stands on its own without the aid of a base or clay. Valued $2500. From the collection of Richard ("Rich") Kosnar (1946-2007), the well-known mineral dealer and collector from Colorado. He was the namesake for the rare zirconium phosphate mineral, Kosnarite.
