Item Description
This is a rather large specimen of adamite from the classic finds here of the late 1960s through early 1980s. The habit of the crystals is of radiating fan sprays shooting out from the contrasting gossan matrix. Here you have several dozen of these so-called pinwheel clusters, to 2 cm, spaced VERY dramatically across a large display face. The overall impact of sparkle and color is wonderful. For the size, usually you do not see such uniform quality in adamites. There is only minimal damage, to the periphery of the clusters and not to the display face itself. Overall, this is a significant survivor, representative of the heyday of a major mineral find. But, its also pretty and showy in a collection, as well. The piece is from the old stashed collection of late dealer Consie Prince of Houston. Valued $2000-ish.
