Item Description

A beautiful and show specimen of these intensely colored Copper-bearing Adamites from the famous Lavrion Mining District in Greece. This historic area has seen mining activity for literally thousands of years, and specimens are still being found to this day. This attractive small cabinet sized display features a rich coverage of sparkly, bubbly, INTENSE blue-green colored Copper-bearing Adamite aggregates measuring up to about 5 mm on Quartz matrix. A portion of the Adamites have a slight coating of white sugary Quartz as well for a nice touch. The display side is in excellent condition and the piece looks even better when backlit, as the color just explodes. This particular hue is rarely seen in Adamite, and there are only a few places in the world (Ojuela and Tsumeb come to mind - though they Adamites from Tsumeb are actually Zincolivenite) where you find Adamites like this, so don't miss out on these specimens as few of them were found, and who knows if more will come out again in the future. Valued $3,000
