Actinolite on Talc (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Please note that this specimen came labeled as coming from the Dhaulagiri #1 Lode Claim in Chelan County, Washington, formerly owned by Jack Zektzer (see https://thediggings.com/mines/ormc24195 ). This locality may or may not be correct, as I have seen very similar specimens from the Wenatchee Ridge in Chelan County. With that said, this piece features sharp, lustrous, prismatic, dark green crystals of Actinolite measuring up to 2.7 cm sitting on minor Talc. Most of the crystals are contacted, so the piece is more of a reference specimen, but it's certainly worth picking up if you collect amphiboles or minerals of Washington state. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
