Actinolite on Scapolite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

This specimen came labeled as coming from Gooderham, Ontario, and I can't find a listing for this locality in any database, so it might have been from an isolated find. It features prismatic, soft green colored crystals of Actinolite measuring up to 1.3 cm sitting on translucent silvery-purple colored Scapolite (possibly Marialite?). It's a showy specimen and the combination is attractive. If you collect minerals of Canada, don't miss out on this one. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11576). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
