Item Description

A classic old time Alpine Actinolite specimen from Switzerland. The piece comes to us from the Eugene Carmichael collection, wit another label from noted New York mineral dealer, Larry Conklin. Larry's label states that the piece is from Tavetsch, but I think it's from Grischun. Nonetheless, it features deep gemmy green color, fairly thick prismatic crystals in schist matrix. The best aspect of the piece is the fact that Actinolite is typically found in fibrous crystals from the Swiss Alps, so the thickness of these crystals is impressive by comparison.
