Item Description
Achtaragdite is a unique, rare, and poorly understood pseudomorph (now considered to be after Helvite) from this remote Siberian locality that is also the Type Locality for Grossular Garnet. The Achtaragdites average just over 1 cm across, and they retain the sculptural, textbook form of the Helvite crystals. The cluster is exceptionally rich, and this amazing pseudo, likely quite old, is out of the Fersman Museum. It was #12,216 in Kay's collection.
