Item Description
Acanthite specimens are very rare from this classic Mexican locale, compared to the prolific mines at Guanajuato or Fresnillo. Stacked, intergrown, blocky, acanthite crystals to 9 mm with moderate luster form a sculptural specimen. Coatings of beautifully iridescent and sparkly chalcopyrite microcrystals add much character. Rare and excellent material, as mining ceased here in 1930. Ex Dave Stoudt Mexico Collection # 173. Valued at $500 for rarity and quality.
