Item Description

Calcite specimens, in general are RARE from this famous and historic silver mine. This showy, large and rare combination consists of a matrix of an intergrown box-work of thin "paper" calcites with a second generation of smaller calcites. Strikingly scattered about are nifty dendritic clusters and clumps of acanthite crystals. The dramatic, 1.6 cm dendritic cluster looks like a weird lobster with many claws! A real surprise is the 4 mm disk-like polybasite crystal with tiny pyrites tucked into a cleft. Exceptional, unusual and fine large combination material from the Rayas Mine. Very faint pink fluorescence for the calcite. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Value??
