Acanthite (New Find)

A striking and outstanding acanthite miniature from a New Find at famous Fresnillo, one of the top three silver producing localities in the world. This incredibly sculptural piece is composed of stacked, lustrous, metallic, melted-look pseudo-cubic crystals. The well-defined hoppering at the wide end of this very artistic piece really adds pizzazz. Every orientation is fascinating on this most excellent piece. Such highly deformed crystals are uncommon from Fresnillo. The view with the large crystals on the bottom looks like a female dancer with outstretched arms wearing a voluminous skirt!
