Item Description

A good representative specimen of modified grey cubic Acanthite from the famous Hongda silver mine in China. It has good form and displays well from one side. Associated wire Silver makes the piece that much better, as many of these pieces are simply Acanthite with no associations. These specimens were all over the place about 5 years ago and have completely dried up now, so don't miss out on this one. Please note, sometimes these specimens are labeled as "Argentite" or pseudomorphs after Argentite, but this is not correct because Argentite cannot exist at our current atmospheric pressure below 177C, so all of these silver sulfide specimens are Acanthite.
