Item Description

From the find in 2005, this is a lovely miniature of octahedral Acanthite from the famous Imiter Mine in Morocco. The largest crystal measures 2.7 cm and has good luster and sharp faces. A very attractive piece that stands out as one of the better miniatures we've had to offer in the auctions. A lot of people label these specimens (and Acanthite in general) as being pseudomorphs after Argentite, but they are technically paramorphs as Acanthite will actually become Argentite in an environment where the temperature reaches above 177 degrees Celsius. This piece was priced at $1250 retail.
