Item Description

EXCELLENT and AESTHETIC, this sharp miniature of Acanthite is from the famous Imiter Mine in the Anti-Atlas Mountains. The piece consists of medium luster, etched, octahedral Acanthite crystals to 1.3 cm on edge. The growth is rather intricate, and affords fascinating, geometric views from several angles. Seasoned European collectors liken these pieces to classic Freiberg Acanthites, which were never common. Likely from the major find in 2005, many collectors and dealers expected these to become an instant classics, justifiably so. Dr. Pohl bought the largest percentage of this find and removed a ton of silver ore, so to speak, to Germany! She had her pick of them, including many fine examples in all sizes.
