Acanthite

Sharp crystals of acanthite to 3 cm on edge highlight a really nicely balanced small cabinet specimen of this classic material from the mid-2000s discovery at the famous Imiter Silver Mine. The larger crystal is 3 cm on edge, the other to 2.5 cm on edge. It is rare to find such nicely isolated crystals on a small matrix, as opposed to loose crystals or a larger matrix with an agglomeration of attached crystals. This is displayable all around, and showls the sharp octahedrons so well. Dr Pohl loves silver, loves Morocco...and she went a little trigger happy and bought a large portion of the entire production of these acanthites. If you see them elsewhere on the market, they can be quite expensive and a piece like this might be valued $5000 or more with a dealer at a show, quite fairly. However, we have the hoard here in the Pohl collection and will release them slowly, over years, starting with carefully curated selections like this for choice aesthetics.
