Item Description

A glorious rich ice-blue, 4.5 x 4.0 x 3.4 cm, very glassy, water-clear to translucent celestine crystal dominates this classic, showy and rich large specimen from the famous Sakoany deposit of Madagascar. This impressive pristine crystal has a classic textbook chisel termination and is aesthetically set among the other celestines. Other crystal sections are 7.0 and 5.8 cm long. The noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of extracting these geodes. See the 2010 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 41, No. 5. Sakoany celestines are certainly among the finest in the world. A highly representative large celestine from the locale highlighted by a striking beautiful prism.
