Item Description

A sculptural and hefty specimen of classic Cobalt silver showing the hackly and bright look that makes them very collectible and identifiable. This is a flattened vein with offshoots and has a bit of greenstone matrix attached to both sides. You can see crude spinel-twins. This piece could have come out anywhere in the heyday of this mine, which operated from 1907 to 1940. It came through the noted John Durkos Collection to the Robert Hauck Silver Collection. This showy piece weighs 140 grams or nearly 5 ounces. A major old Canadian silver, yes, but also just a big crystallized silver period!
