Item Description
A remarkable association specimen from the famous Blanchard Mine. While the piece does not have any one dominant species or characteristic, I looked at it under the microscope and I was able to find 14 individual species! I don't know if there's a record for the number of species on one piece, but this one has to be thrown into the mix. In alphabetical order I was able to find Anglesite, Aurichalcite, Barite, Brochantite, Cerussite, Galena, Gypsum, Hemimorphite, Linarite, Malachite, Quartz, Rosasite, Smithsonite and Sphalerite. There's a lot going on here, but if you have a microscope or a good loupe, you will have a great time looking this piece over as I did. We took as many micro photos as we could, but the we couldn't overload the page with pictures, so please know that not every species may be visible in these images.
