Item Description
A CLASSIC, beautiful and highly desirable combination specimen from the famous Kelly Mine of New Mexico. Tiny, sparkly and gemmy, "rice-grain", smithsonite crystals are peppered on the banded, botryoidal, powder-blue, aurichalcite, that covers the gossan matrix crust. A really neat bonus feature on the backside are the rice-grain smithsonite crystals embedded in the starkly contrasting gossan matrix. This is certainly one of the most desirable and least common Kelly combination specimens you will see. Older, 1960s or early 70s, Mullane Collection. This was NOT cheap in those days when you could literally walk into the mine owners rock shop and by them by the pound at the time....it is a choice, unusual specimen. Valued $750
