Special Auction - Specimens from the Tim Sherburn Collection - Ends Sept 15, 2022

Tim Sherburn is a well-known collector based in the San Diego area but known throughout California, Tucson, and the worldwide mineral community both for his passion for collecting, and also his decades of mining and preparation of specimens from the Rogerley fluorite mines. He is one of the leading specialists in cleaning fluorite and has performed this role throughout multiple ownership changes of the mines there, resulting in a spectacular flow of green fluorite to the world of collectors. He has collected minerals for nearly 50 years. Tim built large collections over the years (including very specialized and fine San Diego and thumbnail suites that have come and gone) and ended up specializing in material from the United Kingdom, particularly Ireland and Scotland, and old Cornwall. We are proud to feature specimens from the collections of Tim Sherburn, an old friend who specialized for 40 years in English, and Scottish classics....this is a very rare suite of special United Kingdom mineral specimens, seldom seen in one place. Also included in the set here are two old irreplaceable antique specimens from the Philadelphia Academy deaccession, now up for auction!
