Item Description
Mineral specimens of ANY variety are RARE from this Witwatersrand field gold mine. The hefty nugget-like quartz matrix is festooned on all sides with lustrous, brassy, striated, pyritohedrons. Labeled as very rich pyritic gold ore, the gold is either very finely disseminated in the quartz or is in the pyrite crystal structure or both. The pyrite color is certainly unusual. Mass is 65 grams. Possibly unique material.
