SPECIAL MINERAL AUCTION - THE COLLECTION of PAUL ZERFASS - ends Thursday July 20th, 2017
Ends Thursday, July 20th, 2017
at 6:45 PM (Central Time Zone)
Continuing with our special themed auctions through the summer we are thrilled to announce the acquisition of the worldwide collection of well-known and beloved French field collector and mineral enthusiast, Paul Zerfass.
Mr. Zerfass' mineral collection is one of great love, effort and joy dating back nearly 50 years to when we has 17 years old (but we was picking up rocks from the age of five). He amassed a fine worldwide suite of minerals, many of which came directly from his efforts as a field collector. He has been featured on the cover of the May / June 2017 issue of the French mineral magazine, Le Règne Minéral, which showed a detailed spread of his collection and a wonderful biography of his life. We have a .pdf file with the article for anybody who wants to read it (though it's mostly in French), so just drop us a line and we'll send it along.
You will see many attractive historic, classic and contemporary specimens from Paul's collection featured here, and we've taken this opportunity to familiarize everybody with this introductory 30 piece auction. Look for more of his specimens mixed into the auctions for the next several months.
