Special Auction - Specimens from the Dick Hauck and Kenny Gay Collections

This week's special auction features a selection of specimens from two different collections.  The first half showcases worldwide classics from the private collection of Richard "Dick" Hauck, a longtime collector of minerals, books, and mining memorabilia, along with being an accomplished author in the mineral world.

The second half of the auction features mostly minerals of North Carolina from the collection of Kenny Gay.  There are lots of rare locality pieces in this section, that are seldom seen for sale in today's market.  Norman Kennedy ("Kenny") Gay (1953-2023), was a geologist, geoscience educator and mineral collector from North Carolina who worked for North Carolina Geological Survey starting 1995, andwas a member of the adjunct faculty at Wesleyan College, and a professor of geology since 2001.
