Item Description
An excellent and historic 16-piece collection of ancient Native American arrowheads from two localities in Upstate New York. The sharp points are formed from slate and are side- and corner-notch arrowheads. They date to the Late Archaic time period and range from about 1930-1350 BC. The Bent Site arrowheads in Schenectady County were found in 1959 along the Mohawk River. The glass-topped box is 21.3 x 16.0 x 2.3 cm. Ex Wesleyan University, Dr. Bruce Jarnot and James Zigras Collections. We usually don't offer ancient manmade artifacts, but this outstanding and rare collection of ancient arrowheads from two localities was auctioned off at the 2004 Rochester Mineralogical Symposium auction and ended up here for sale!
