Butterfly-twinned Egremont calcite crystals are a very desirable English classic. This very glassy, transparent to translucent crystal has a well-defined twinning plane. Half of the crystal has classic textbook form with the other half being contacted, where another crystal once lay and has no damage, per se. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of edge wear. A very fine, highly representative old-time example of the famous form and locality. Valued at $650. Much better in person.
