A 1.3 cm, gorgeous, rich violet-red gemmy red beryl crystal is dramatically set on the sculptural matrix on this outstanding miniature from the Wah Wah Mts. Most of the beautiful, glassy, lustrous, textbook hexagonal crystal is beautifully gemmy, with just a bit of typical rhyolite "sand" noted at the termination. The small crystal is a super accessory. This is the only place on the planet to find such red crystals. There has been very little recent production from this famous locale. In fact, almost none. And there will never be much more, I would bet. This is an exceptional and desirable matrix specimen from the renowned locale. Ex Wouter van Tichelen Collection. Fairly valued at $1500.
