Native Iron slag (rare Germany)

Item Description

Native iron is RARE from any worldwide locality. This EXTREMELY RARE and unusual miniature is from one the slag dumps of the three long abandoned zinc and lead smelters at Stolberg. I bought it, assuming it was natural iron but later found on MINDAT that this is a locality where specimens which came out long ago were mislabelled. Nevertheless, An interesting oddity!
