FINE MINERAL COLLECTION and INVENTORY LIQUIDATION AUCTION (set 2 of 2) - FEATURING GERMAN CLASSICS FROM THE KAY ROBERTSON COLLECTION - end November 9th, 2017
Ends Thursday, November 9th, 2017
at 6:45 PM (Central Time Zone)
We're changing things up for the next couple weeks regarding the second mineral auction. We still have our usual mix of rarities, unusual pieces, gem crystals, classics and display specimens, but the second page of the auction will feature many German classics and other pieces from the Kay Robertson collection. We're putting together this special set to coincide with the Munich Show along with the large 50+ page spread featuring Kay's German classics in the German Mineral Magazine "Mineralien Velt"! Look for well-known classics from historic localities along with rarities and esoteric / oddball pieces from all over.
In addition to Kay's classics, you will still find specimens from various collections we've obtained including Willard Wulff, Francesco Bedogné, Paul Zerfass, along with Herb Obodda dealer stock. Look here for the not so typical mineral specimens along with plenty of your favorites. We don't just offer the "standard 20 species", but an eclectic mix of specimens that appeal to everybody!
Some of the highlights from this week's include:
1. A trio of RHODOCHROSITE specimens from the Sweet Home Mine collected in the late 1970s by Rich Kosnar
2. Unusual "caterpillar"-esque SMITHSONITE from Berg Aukus, Namibia (ex Kay Robertson Collection)
3. Rare AQUAMARINE / MORGANITE (rare bicolor crystal) with twinned ALBITE from Pakistan
4. A superb old classic pseudomorph of TENNANTITE after AZURITE from Tsumeb (ex Kay Robertson Collection)
5. Classic red VANADINITE from the Apache Mine in Arizona (ex Les Presmyk and Tony Potucek Collections)
6. Excellent, sharp, brilliant cyclic twinned CASSITERITE on matrix from Panasqueira (ex Francesco Bedogné Collection)
7. Attractive and interesting replacement of MIMETITE after CERUSSITE from Tsumeb (ex Kay Robertson Collection)
8. PAGE 2 features 15 GERMAN CLASSICS and other minerals from the Kay Robertson Collection!
