Gemmy, purple Pulsifer apatites are certainly THE most sought-after apatites in the United States and are amongst the most desirable in the world. They are SELDOM available in ANY market. This is a sharp, gorgeous and gemmy Pulsifer apatite with classic, intensely purple color saturation, typical of the famous locale. The crystal is beautifully accented with a little corsage of bubbly quartz. The crystal is contacted on the back, but it is out of sight. OLD-TIME, very choice material from the George Elling Collection. Valued $750-900-ish to the worldwide market I think I would say, but I often see thumbnails of this size and color, when they do turn up, priced at a flat $1000 or $2000 since they always DO seem to sell. They remain the world standard for purple fluorite, after all these years.
