Item Description
A large, rich, slabbed and polished banded gold ore specimen from the famous Sunnyside mine in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. This piece features rich patches of specks of bright native gold in quartz matrix with associated bands of galena and pyrite. The galena and pyrite are more evident on the side and back of the piece. A nice and rich representative large gold specimen from this now defunct, but highly significant Colorado gold mine. Ex Chris Cowan Collection. 325 grams.
